I remember a while ago reading Chelsea Cain’s tweet “Off to a photo shoot – Storm Large as Gretchen Lowell!” and immediately replying something like “OMFG, that RULES! It all makes sense now!” By which I meant, certain artists and certain characters are, quite simply, meant for each other. Storm as Gretchen Lowell = Exhibit A.
Whenever the geniuses here in Hollywood finally make filmed versions of Cain’s delightful and gruesome books, they better not even think about casting someone else as Gretchen. If they need an established mega-moviestar for marketing purposes they can cast Clive Owen or George Clooney as Archie. But if they give Gretchen to Charlize Theron or somebody, I swear to God I’m gonna pull some kind of Nancy Kerrigan kneecapping shit.
